Personal Work - Lego Minifigure
Started modelling a Lego minifigure with the intention of rigging it so I can use it as a drawing reference.
Front and Side Model Sheet
This is a reference I put together for my front and side view. I took a default model into zBrush and played around with it until I had the proportions and body shape of my character. I then assembled the front and side view within zBrush and grabbed a screencap. After overlaying the most recent concept sketch of his face onto the image, I could set about using it for modelling. I quite like this workflow as zBrush let me put together a very quick and accurate, and fully 3D front and side view, which helped a lot when modelling. When it comes to creating clothes for my character, I will do a paintover on top of the image so I can try out different costumes on the model.
Abbas - Modelling Progress
The base model is pretty much finished save for a few minor tweaks. I'm really happy with how this came out; I've only modelled an entire body from scratch once before so this, along with simultaneously modelling the viking model, has been a big challenge, but one that I have enjoyed. I was really focused on nailing the topology of the model, and I'm very pleased with the overall edge flow and poly distribution. Next step is to take it into zBrush and turn it from a generic base model into a detailed model full of character and personality.
Personal Work - Yooka-Laylee Fan Art
A little bit of fan art for the upcoming 3D platformer Yooka-Laylee. Got quite the response on Twitter.
Personal Work - Lego Walking Dead
A little bit of personal Lego work this time to celebrate the return of The Walking Dead. May have to do more of these.
Viking Platformer - Modelling Progress
I'm really enjoying modelling our chubby viking, Bard. His shape and proportions are incredibly exaggerated which makes him look quite fun, but the attention to detail and anatomy is still present hopefully. I also love his oversized buttons.
